A major challenge faced by the USAF was efficiently managing hybrid cloud deployments across both AWS and Azure platforms, which involved deploying infrastructure and applications while ensuring consistency and minimizing manual efforts. Additionally, the USAF needed to address concerns about potentially losing previous investments in AWS due to new contracts with Azure. Furthermore, optimizing software deployment and maintenance costs, which accounted for half of the overall software expenditure, was crucial.
